Guided Meditation and Sound Bath (9th July)

9 July 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

£20

Take a moment for yourself with 90 minutes of complete rest and deep relaxation. Whether you need to escape the chaos of life, deepen your meditation practice or just need to feel more connected, grounded and joyful, this is a moment for you. Enjoy the magical peacefulness of the yurt. Listen as my voice and healing sounds wash over you, sending you into a deep and blissful relaxation.

Limited to 12 spaces.

frequently asked questions:

You will lie down in a lovely warm room, wrapped up in a blanket, your head resting on a pillow, and do nothing for 90 minutes. During this time, you can deeply relax as you listen to me guide you through a meditation and then use singing bowls, chimes, percussion and the gong to take you deeper into rest.

Comfortable clothing. Something you’ll feel happy to lie down in. Layers can be good so that you can put on extra layers if you feel cool or take them off if you’re super cosy.

  • Blanket.
  • Pillow(s) – you may want to bring an extra pillow for under your knees to allow less pressure on your lower back – it’s entirely up to you. Bring whatever you need to make yourself a comfy little nest on the floor.
  • A bottle of water.

Bisley Yurt is a beautiful space – enjoy the warmth of the log burning as you lie down, gaze up towards the sky, surrounded by fairy lights and candlelight. Parking is available and there are toilets just outside the yurt.

The session will start promptly at 7:00pm so please make arrangements to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early so that you have time to settle and make yourself comfortable. For the comfort and respect of others, latecomers will unfortunately not be able to join.

If any of the following conditions apply to you, please read the notes before making a booking or feel free to contact me at hello@stopforamoment.com with any questions.

Please note that all guests are responsible for their own health and wellbeing during and after the sound bath.

Precautions and Contraindications

Pregnancy

Sound baths are not advised during the first 3 months of pregnancy. However, there are many positive effects to be gained from relaxation and healing sounds both for the mother and baby, so please get in touch after the first 3 months – I’d love to see you at an event.

Epilepsy

According to the Epilepsy Action support services there is a rare form of epilepsy, where music or sound (bells, music, humming, buzzing, animals, and car horns, etc.) can trigger an epileptic seizure. The sound is usually very unique to the person who will often be aware of their own triggers. Most clients will be fully aware of their condition and triggers and would more than likely avoid this type of treatment. Sound Baths are not recommended for people with epilepsy.

Mental illness

Mental illness can range from anxiety, depression and mood disorders (that have a severe and tangible effect on your emotions and motivation), to psychotic disorders like schizophrenia, (that affect your perceptions or senses with delusions or hallucinations). Sound Baths are not suitable for people with severe or clinical mental health conditions.

Implants or plates in the body (metal plates, pins, ball joints in particular)

An implant is a medical synthetic device manufactured to replace, support or enhance a biological structure. The surface of implants that are in contact with the body might be made of a biomedical material such as titanium, silicone, or apatite. In some cases implants contain electronics e.g. artificial pacemaker and cochlear implants. The vibrations we experience through sound healing may cause discomfort through the vibration of the sound and the implant. It is advisable make an informed decision and seek advice from your GP if you are concerned.

Bone Fractures

We usually ask people to wait six weeks for the bone to knit together before attending a sound bath using the gong – the vibration caused by the gong may be too much for the bones.

Advanced stages of cancer

Gentle sound can be relaxing and soothing for somebody with cancer, however, we would recommend that this is personalised to the specific needs of the individual and that somebody who is undergoing chemotherapy treatment does not attend a sound bath.

People under the age of 18

People under the age of 18 can attend, however, they must be accompanied by their parent or guardian or have written permission to attend. They must be old enough to lie still for the full session as to not disturb the other guests.

COVID / Coughs and colds
For the reassurance of our guests we ask that if you have any symptoms, please let us know and come another time. We are happy to rebook in this case.
