And that’s ok.
So many of my posts focus on finding your joy, making time to play, taking a moment to breathe, appreciating all the love in life, and feeling gratitude for the simple things.
This is slightly different.
Today, I want to say that some things just hurt.
And that’s ok.
Some days we need to feel whatever we feel. To face it. To sit down with it and let it speak. To listen to it. To allow it to be.
It’s only in making the space for our difficult feelings that we can embrace them, hold them, and understand them.
Today I’m feeling sad. Really sad. Deep down, stomach-twisting, heart-beating, throat-tightening, eyes-welling sad.
But it’s ok.
I’m allowing it the space and the time it needs. I’m holding space for my emotions like I would for a little child who just needs to be held by its mum. In approaching sadness with such understanding and openness, it gives it the space it needs to be seen and acknowledged.
Then, despite the weight of sadness, there is still space for other emotions to shine through too. There is so much love, so much hope, and so much gratitude in my life.
So, whereas this is a slightly different post than my usual ones, it’s also incredibly similar.
Make space for what you need to feel.
See it.
Hear it.
Let it be.
There is a stillness and strength inside you that you can always come back to. Whatever life throws at you. Whatever you feel.
